Tiny Miraculous Moments

Lilacs

Each year the fast and fleeting
small buds of Lilacs explode
nearly as quickly as fireworks
they come and go
their fragrance
I wish I could bottle up
and if only I’m lucky enough
to live another year
I will again savor
this exquisite joy

Crescent Moon

Each month the crescent moon
arrives (waxes/wanes) brilliantly
sweetly gracing the night sky
catches my breath
and shocks my heart
with such a sudden ache
and knowing,
I whisper to her
“I will miss you when I’m gone!”

Tiny Miraculous Moments

Tiny miraculous moments are everywhere
the oases of the Infinite
these lush places all around us
this continuous undercurrent
springs up unexpected
to meet our stunned parched lips.

Each breath
drawn in and out with awe
extinguishes the ever writhing
fires of our suffering.

Tiger Lilies

Every July the Tiger Lilies stand tall
in the early morning
closed mouthed, stunningly still.

They lean in the direction of the sunrise
patiently wait for her to lift
up just so in the sky.
As if for a kiss, the tension
the tilt of a head upwards
and the bowing down
of another until lips meet.

An invisible language of light
of longing, of love.
Unconditional, reciprocal.

When you touch me like this
I open and sing for you.
I sway in this way only with you
somehow pulled by
the magical arc of
your particular magnetism.

Moment of Peace

This is a moment of peace

Peace is a part of life

May I receive this peace fully
to take root in my being
and be nourished by it

Exquisite Breath

What an exquisite thing

An exhalation
